This session seriously made my heart so happy and long to do these in home sessions weekly. It is soooo much fun to be inside when it’s so cold outside and just stay inside and take cozy warm pictures. I also attempted at my very first video, EVER. The full video is at the end of this post! I am excited to announce that I will be offering a free love video to the next 3 people that book an at home couple session with me!

After that I will start charging a low rate to include video with your sessions until I build my portfolio and feel confident in my work. Can’t wait to start on this video journey and hope that you guys are as excited as I am! If you want to snag one of those 3 spots send me an email at info@kelsieemmphotography.com with the subject IN HOME SESSION. Thanks guys!

In home sessions are my new favorite! So if you have been considering having one this week is the time to schedule one. I will be offering a special deal coming a little bit later this week. SO stay tuned! This was my first in home COUPLE session, and like I said. New favorite. Honestly, I loved how relaxed it was. Richie and Shyanne were amazing to work with, and the things Richie would say to make Shyanne laugh and be herself also had be laughing behind the camera. These two=photographer’s dream.

If you don’t follow this babe of a babe then you probably should ASAP. You can check out her site right here. I have grown to love Dani so much. We have been working together for a few months now, shooting weekly and she is just the real deal you guys. She is so genuine, so kind, and never forgets to make sure I know that she appreciates me and my talent. There aren’t a lot of people like that in the world that I feel like truly take time out of their day to make sure others know that they are appreciated, but Dani is one of them. So glad to call her not only a client but a true friend. Had to share some of what me and her create.

Ali and Jace were so fun to work with on this shoot. The original plan was to shoot outside but there was a major rainstorm which brought us into the Ogden Click. I couldn’t be more thankful that the weather brought us inside. I love that because of the overcast sky we had a different kind of light that brought so much mood to our shoot. These two, Ali is just gorgeous and her hair and makeup was done by Steph, and her dress was designed by Natalie Wynn Design. How can you not swoon over that dress? Seriously perfection.

This boudoir shoot with Savannah was so fun to do this last year. Savannah is such a sweetheart and I loved working with her on these. Her hair and makeup was done by my girl Bailey (@schiessstyles) and it couldn’t have been more perfect for this shoot. I also loved this location! This happens to be a friend’s house up in Ogden Canyon. How pretty is all the wood detailing and windows? All the light is seriously a photographer’s dream. I don’t typically do these sessions, so it was a fun shoot for me to switch things up!

I love her sheer loose fit robe. It added the perfect drama to her pictures. 2017-01-05_00152017-01-05_0016Savannah in this boudoir shoot was so fun. This shot specifically where her hand is swiping away her hair with that playful smile is perfect. Her sheer robe sliding off her shoulders is just everything.

This shoot with Krystiana was a fun creative shoot I put together to try and push my creativity and inspire me. Which it did. I loved working with Bailey Schiess (@schiessstyles) and Krystiana. The vision started by being inspired by flowers and as I started brainstorming I remembered this gorgeous dress from Dresses by Danielle and Marlene Hart Designs that I had previously shot in this shoot. I knew I had to shoot with it again.

So my neighbors that live across the street had recently refinished their bedroom with the original hard wood floors and it was gorgeous the instant I saw it I knew I wanted to shoot there. They are so nice and pushed back moving in their furniture to allow me to do a shoot. They are seriously the best. The shoot really came to life one we all got in there and the flowers being scattered on the ground honestly wasn’t even really the idea until I got to the shoot and I knew I just wanted to do something different. Didn’t know if it was going to work or not, but I ended up loving it.

After shooting this shoot I ended up deleting all these pictures before a copy was saved to my computer. Luckily they were all edited and I was able to screenshot them from off of my Lightroom. SO they aren’t the best quality. But, I still had to share because I loved this shoot for how different it was for me.

Lindsay and Easton were so fun to work with. These bridals were taken in the dead of winter, thank Utah for throwing us curveballs of no snow when you least expect it. I have shot out on Antelope Island several times and I’ve never seen their famous Bison. Well these two brought me luck and we saw so many! And who knew they were such huge animals! I had so much fun adventuring out with these two, watching them jump over crap. Literally. And the constant laughter made me so excited for these two to seal the deal.

Guys, I seriously can’t believe that today is the last day of 2016. This year flew by for me, and yet I look back and this year was crazy in my personal life and I would have never thought that this year would have been the one that my business grew the most.

The first few months of 2016 was me figuring out how to be a mom of two and enjoying having a baby girl in our family. I didn’t shoot much during these times because my hands were so full. Summer came and I had double jaw surgery where I was put on an 8 week liquid diet and wasn’t able to talk normal for a long time. Another “break” in my year.

Then Fall came and I was able to get back into the game again and I wanted to push myself harder than I ever have before with my photography. I cannot believe the growth I feel. I have loved challenging myself in new lighting situations, new locations, continually trying to push myself out of my comfort zone. You guys, yes YOU have helped me grow. It was so hard for me to pick a few of my very favorite pictures to post here from my year.

I already have good things planned for this coming year. Awesome collaborations, attending great workshops, and I already have amazing brides. It is going to be soooooo good. And if that isn’t enough I have a surprise that you will have to wait to find out about, but will start getting into the works this summer! Can’t wait to fill you in.

In no particular order, because I seriously could not tell you which one of these I love most. I love each one for different reasons. Either the lighting, the feeling, or it was chosen because of how I FELT when I shot it. Or the growth I remember happening at that shoot. Hope you enjoy!

This lace wedding gown from Alta Moda Bridal had me seriously heart eyed. Everything about it was incredibly stunning on Taylor. This session had some serious light differences. We started shooting in bright sun and shot clear until the sun was gone. I just couldn’t stop shooting because these two together were perfection and I was just having too much fun. So you will be able to tell when that sun was gone and everything got moodier which I LOVE.

Don’t get me wrong I love when you get that perfect golden glow in images, but I love letting that sun go down and continuing to make some magic. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see all vendors involved. You won’t want to miss it. It makes my job easy when you have an incredible team.

This session was sooooo fun for me! I had never shot in St George and have wanted to FOREVER. So when my family was making a weekend trip down to Southern Utah I had to jump on the opportunity. And THESE TWO, they couldn’t have been any better to work with. They woke up early for me so that we could do a sunrise shoot and it was so worth it. I loved the light that happened especially in the beginning of this shoot. But really the whole thing was just magic. I really hope this isn’t the last time I shoot in St. George. You hear that Southern Utah peeps? Hire me to come down and shoot! Look how great these two are.

This shoot was my favorite from my Halloween series. I had so much fun shooting this! I have been waiting to use this dress forever on a shoot! This dress is actually an original gunny sack dress and was my mom’s prom dress! The night we shot this it was sooooooo cold! Kenz was such a good sport because this dress was super thin! We actually brought that brown furry blanket to keep her warm in between shots, but ended up using it as a prop in some. And I love it!

Her hair was covered in a ton of baby powder and it seriously looked insanely awesome. Bailey did amazing once again with making Kenz look like a pretty ghost bride. Exactly what I wanted. Not something creepy. But just a little eery. Shooting in the cemetery was also freaking rad. Never done that before, and it was an awesome setting for this shoot.

Styling was done by myself.

Hair and Make Up by Bailey.
