Hannah + Austin

In my ideal world, I would have couples for their engagements, bridals, and wedding – that way by the time the wedding comes around my couples are super comfortable with me, and my camera. And we’re friends. And let’s be honest, it’s way more fun to be friends with the person that’s with you constantly on your wedding day. WELL, sometimes it doesn’t work out like that for one reason or another. But, I am always SO thankful when couples still choose to work with me in some capacity even if we don’t get the perfect trifecta. Hannah and Austin had inquired for me to shoot their wedding, and I was super bummed to find out I had already was booked that day. They decided to hire me for their bridals regardless and I was SO HAPPY.

These two were so fun to work with. They are both super competitive and wanted to be “my best clients”. And they seriously set the bar high with these pictures. We shot these up in Huntsville area and we got there earlier than I had planned so our light changed quite a bit throughout the session. But when golden hour hit I was so happy behind that lens because the light was truly amazing.

Also, no Bridal session is complete with out florals and the dress!! Huge thanks to Blooms and Branches for their amazing work on Hannah’s bouquet and Off White Bride for creating such a masterpiece.

Simone + Eli

It was so fun to drive to Zion National Park, specifically Kolob Canyon to meet up with Simone and Eli for their adventure couples session. They came from out of state to celebrate their 6 years together.

“My boyfriend and I are taking our first official vacation together in May and it’s also our six year anniversary that week. He is not into the whole engagement, photography sessions whatsoever nor are we engaged. However I think it’ll be a great way to remember our anniversary and first big trip together by doing a couples shoot.”

I couldn’t agree more! I feel like sometimes it’s a common misconception that you need to be engaged, married, or with a baby on the way to get professional photos done, but it is so untrue! That’s why I love anniversary sessions so much regardless of the type. Just two people wanting to create lasting memories during a special time in their lives. AND BONUS if you do them while on a trip! What better way to remember a vacation and time with your lover. I tend to think the ordinary is extraordinary. Document your life! It’s the only want ya got.

Meghan + Lance

Meghan and Lance were the BEST to work with. We had to reschedule a few times due to weather but it ended up being so, so worth it. This whimsical location is literally 2 minutes from my house which is amazing because it happens to be one of my favorites! The birch trees creates gorgeous light and the different terrain offers the variety I love while shooting bridals.

Also, did you notice Meghan’s dress?? Is it not to die for?! I seriously want it for myself. The Perfect Dress always creates such masterpieces and I am always overjoyed when one of my brides chooses to wear them! Flowy bottom gorgeous lace top – could it get more perfect?

Ell + Shaun

I could NOT stop smiling as I was going through Ell and Shaun’s session. Like, seriously, this girl is freaking SUNSHINE. Right?! And, becuase Shaun is the reason for her giant half moon smile, well, just warm fuzzy feelings all around! Ell’s full name is Lauralee, but goes by Ell which is just precious. I LOVE that name — trying to convince my husband to name one of our girls that. 😉 Anyway, these two were so fun loving with each other and they rarely didn’t have those gorgeous smiles on their face. Can we also talk about how these two are total babes? They both love working out and do workouts together that are killer. Ell can do pull ups like no other girl I’ve seen.

We took these photos starting out at the Aspen trees up by Snowbasin and then made our way down into a field in Huntsville. The light was amazing for this whole session and these two were up for anything I threw at them. Those are the best type of clients. Ones that completely trust. If you go into a shoot with complete trust in your photographer / me I gaurentee you will come away will killer images and memories. I love, love, love it!

Mary + Adam

First things first, this couple was next level sweet. All my couples are so special to me, I think that is one of my favorite parts about this job is the variety of people it exposes me too. However, there are those couples every now and then that have a particularly special story that makes the day so much more meaningful. Marina (Mary) and Adam had gone through a lot as a couple and being there to witness their vows was so touching. Marina is from Russia and her mom was able to fly over to be a part of the wedding.  Even though it was only through actions that I could understand her, it was amazing to see her love she poured out to her daughter and now son-in-law. One particularly touching moment of the day was when Mary’s mom read her toast at the reception – which was later translated. True love was ever so present in that room. A second favorite moment was Mary and Adam’s choreographed first dance – are the kidding? THE sweetest.

Also, if you’re wondering, Wadley Farms is absolute perfection. It’s gorgeous architecture and sweeping grounds make it the perfect backdrop for a gorgeous day.

Alexis + Henry

AH Alexis and Henry. Two of THE most adorable humans. They drove from Idaho again for their bridals and I tell ya, the stars TOTALLY aligned for this location. I had a spot all picked out for them and as we were getting ready this guy came out of nowhere and offered his property for us to shoot on! It was mystical, magical, like total dreamland, fairytale, Narnia – I don’t even know – it was just PERFECT.  I always feel so incredibly lucky when I have clients travel for me, and I’m so grateful these two came down.  The evening was amazing and I had the best time watching these two cuties love on each other.

Alex + Cassidy

I feel like it’s one of those funny myths that you can only wear your wedding attire once. I suppose that may be true for most, UNLESS you’re brilliant like Alex and Cassidy and jump back in your dapper outfits for an anniversary session! THE best. Outfits are like smells, no? They take you straight back to a moment? Maybe not, but it worked for these two as they were as lovey and sweet as they were on that special day 365 days ago. Alex admitted he was not super excited for their pictures, but we were able to laugh and dance and run around in that pretty Utah sun, and I thiiink he had a pretty good time. Goes to show that even if you don’t want your picture taken or feel like you look bad in front of the camera we can still get you to relax enough to get those real smiles out and have some fun – I promise!!! That’s probably one of my favorite things is when we have a reluctant groom on our hands and he leaves with an exuberant “that was so much fun!” 😉 So grateful these two chose me to capture their one year marital bliss.

Also, special thanks to Alta Moda Bridal for creating a masterpiece brides want to wear over and over. 🙂

Kenedee + Waylon

This was THE most perfect day. I drove almost 4 hours to Moon Lake for these two and I’m SO glad I did – it was the perfect setting. We were planning on shooting right by the lake but there was still a lot of snow so we made it up by the Aspen trees instead and it was perfect. Kennedy and Waylon have the cutest daughter, Brexlee, and it was so fun to have a little assistant on my shoot! Brexlee loved helping me tell her parents what they should do.  Also, Waylon was the sweetest dad ever to Brexlee and it seriously melted my heart.

Shannon + Hadley

Shannon and Hadley. These two will forever have a place in my heart. Sometimes people are just meant to be in your life. These lovers are some of the sweetest most adorable humans. There love is playful and yet so genuine. I had a blast being part of there engagements, bridals and wedding day. Which to me is so important. It truly let me get to know them and their relationship.

Their wedding day at SLC temple was beautiful, there was a little bit of rain. But nothing stopped these two. There reception at The Woods was so pretty, and simply elegant. They had the most delicious crepes served at the reception that I ate way too many of. In all the day was so much fun, no stress, beautiful day. One that I am so thankful to have been a part of!

Dani + Zach

You know that phenomenon where someone is laughing and although you have no idea what’s so funny, you laugh because you see them laughing?! Well, that was pretty much this entire session. TALK ABOUT JOYFUL. These two were literally laughing the ENTIRE time. Which means I was literally laughing the entire time. Which means, this shoot was the best. Dani is a blogger I shoot with weekly and has become one of my best friends. Although we shoot so regularly, it was fun switch things up and do a shoot with her and Zach.  I think it’s safe to say the result was magical. Plus the lighting at the salt flats this evening was INSANE. Man I love that place. Salt Flats forever, please.

Eliza + Trent

One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is getting to play around with my couples. This particular shoot was a product shoot for Cordalife, and although much of the shoot was based around their sandals, I loved having the second half of the shoot to just be about them! Eliza and Trent jumped in last minute to do this shoot and I could not have been happier that it was them that I was working with. They had THE BEST most positive attitude. And can we talk about their love????? Their sweet gestures towards each other were so genuine and real and it was a love that I honestly didn’t know quite existed. Their love is true down to their core.

Shae + Kourtney

This collaboration. The best thing in EVERY way. Every once in awhile I try to plan a shoot that will be just for me and for my growth. I always have a goal with these types of shoots and for this shoot I wanted to challenge myself to shoot a bridal as much inside of a van as possible. I knew it would make me put them in different situations and would force me to work with varied lighting situations. Well, it was SO much fun and Shae and Kourtney were just a blast to work with. They were actually engaged during this shoot and JUST got married! Woot!

Shout out to my amazing collaboration partners, Arvo with the sweet van, Janay Marie with her gorgeous dress design, and Bailey Schiess for making our models look AMAZE. These types of shoots are just my favorite. If there are any photogs reading this (or creatives in general) I would totallyy recommend making personal projects a priority. You come out of them refreshed, inspired, and hopefully with a renewed sense of why you do what you do.

Make sure to also check out the video we did at this collaboration by going HERE.
